2AFN Present: The Movie I Could Not Forget by Aleeya Hazwani
During my leisure time, I’d like to watch movie. If I have spare time, I will go to cinema to watch some movies but if I did not have free time, I will only watch movie through online streaming at home. My all time favourite movie is Our Times , a Taiwanese teen romantic-comedy films that produce in 2015. Our Times was directed by Frankie Chen and this film was released box office on 15 October 2015 in Hong Kong and Macau. As of 20 January 2016, the film has grossed $84,400,000 world-wide, with its largest territory being mainland China with $54,800,000.This film is about an ordinary school girl, Lin Cheng-hsin or ‘Truly Lin’ starred by Vivian Sung, traveling back in time and she reminisces about her high school days, working alongside her friends to get the attention of their crush. This film also starred by Darren Wang as Hsu Tai-yu the school notorious gang leader and Dino Lee as Ouyang Fei-Fan, the school's most popular male student.
One day, Truly Lin received a chain letter that’s make she scared because of what the letter contains. She received a warning of forthcoming doom if she don’t deliver this letter to anyone else. So she passes it on to Hsu Tai-yu and the most popular girl in school, Tao Min-min. Unfortunately, Hsu Tai-yu got hit by a car while reading this letter. After Tai-yu finds out the letter’s sender, he makes Truly Lin becomes his friend or exactly his errand-girl.
I love this film because back then, we learn that people were happy with the little things. Whether it's a simple game or just hanging out at the comic book store. You can enjoy many forms of entertainment around you without using the Internet or social media unlike nowadays. Our Time also highlight how high-school student can describe love in term of romance, friendship and family. We can also consider it as coming-of-age film where it focus on growth of a teenager to adulthood as both leading roles realize that simply being romantically involved does not guarantee that you will remain as partners forever.
Our Time thought me that sometimes we love to turn back time to our young self because of all the memories of growing up that we’ve been through. Some people might think that this film is a cliché love story but I’ll guarantee that majority people will like this film because it brings comfort to people who watch it.
